A newly established firm in New York offers divorced men a made to measure home furnishings and decorating service.
The service is aimed principally at well-to- do newly divorced men moving into new accommodation, especially those who will be hosting their children during contact visits. The website of SimplyHome2 explains that it can help clients with “buying and setting up essentials from bedding to gaming consoles for your kids”. It also ensures clients are “stocked with all the comforts of home”.
In addition to home décor, the available services include the coordination of moving day and the purchasing and delivery of even the most basic items such as pots and pans for the kitchen and towels for the bathroom.
SimplyHome2 caters “to a sophisticated male clientele that are transitioning to new life phases” and says when it meets clients for the first time they often have “nothing more than a few boxes, a laptop and a mattress.”
Co-founder Tanhya Schimel told The New York Post:
“We turn [clients’] houses into homes”.
